As far as low carb feeds go, Nutrena SC is not very low in starch.  It is quite high in NSC% and is not a fixed formula which means contents can very by bag.  I don' remember the exact number (IIRC, 25%)   It is quite high when compared to other low starch formulas like Triple Crown (15%), Blue Seal Carb Guard (11%) or even Triple Crown Senior (11.7%).


I ment compaired to corn and cleaned oats feeds wich is the normal feed in my neck of the woods.  Most folks here still beleive a coffee can of corn twice a day is all their horse needs plus  hay.  I have heard that the Triple crown is a good feed but its extremely hard to find around here and when you do its horribly high.  Isn't the Blue seal one of Clinton Anderson's sponsors?
