have you seen an indian bosal like this??
  •  i inherited a TON of tack from my mom. I found this in the box I got today, i'm 99.9% sure its a Indian bosal
But i've never seen one quite like it!! Its very nice!  the rings are actually spliced into the rope, so it was defintely made by someone who knew how to braid & splice rope - the rings at the end are spliced nicely too!

i can't tell really what kind of rope it is ( not yacht or nylon diamond braid). It really doesn't look that old or well used. I think its neat though!! Definitely going to try it on Daisy!! has anyone seen one before?? I feel like I've seen alot of tack, but nothing quite like this one.......

  • I looked up some pictures and yes, it seems so but there were none as nice as yours!  Cool!  Nice mom!  I hope you mean inherited in a not-sad way.
  • it was in a sad way. she passed away this last march. I never knew her so it was a little weird. But i totally think the horse craziness is genetic, there she was - not having a horse for years - but kept every piece of tack she could! ( I would do the same exact thing LOL).

so far i love this bridle - i really hope Daisy responds to it well, cuz I think its so neat. She was a good model donk this morning & let me take a bunch of pics of her wearing it. Along with a set of braided reins I inherited.

as you can see Daisy is a bit fat. lol. we're working on that - she goes on walks & is on a weighed diet - she got a little too much 'love' at the last place & too little space & activity.

in this one I adjusted it a  little bit, but not sure if I like where it is.

what it looks like under her jaw

    thanks for looking!

  • Yes it is a western plains Indian Bosal. I used to have one with my first horse. This was the training bridle for them. Used more then a regular bridle though. Very well done. I can not tell what kind of rope it is. Maybe you can post a good close up of the rope.
