what is a good age to buy a horse? around 4 or closer 6? i would want to have the horse ready to ride and mostly trained but i would still like to somewhat train the horse myself, just easy little things tho.

I think the best age to buy a horse is definitely in your 40's. Now some say it's best to buy one when you're younger and have children at home who can enjoy them but that can backfire if they become disinterested and you end up being the one taking care of something that you bought because your daughter wanted to braid the pretty hair. And don't even think about it until your kids are 26 and off your health insurance!
