My eldest, the chi and Cody
  • My eldest wanted to do a photo shoot with Cody before she went back to school, my youngest was the photographer and we've explained to her that she should include the horse's legs in the future!  Cody is so patient.  Tonight while we were waiting for Jewel to finish her pellets, Kelly was practicing her vaulting mount as he stood in the pasture watching Jewel eat.... took her many attempts but she did manage to swing herself up them on Cody and he was unimpressed!

    Anyways:
She put Princeton up on Cody's back while I was brushing him and he started playing with me!  You can see my legsunder his belly .... mind you, I'm 5' 9"......

We always say he's like a big couch!

  • Very nice. I love large horses. Of course I have a smaller one because I couldn't get up on the tall one I looked at without a mounting block so I looked for a shorter one. And now, since herniating a couple of disks in my back in 2005, I have to use a mounting block for the 'little' guy. [&o]
  • I can't decide which one of your horses I like the best. [':)']  That's a pretty girl there!!
  • Love the pics ! Cody is a super handsome guy and your daughter is really pretty. How tall is Cody ? He looks to be close to 17 hands to me since you're 5' 9" and I can't see your head . I love tall horses but like Durango I have to stick to the little ones around 15 hands since I've got 6 herniated disca and nerve damage in my beck and legs. I just can't get on a bigger horse and even a 15 hard horse is difficult even with a mounting block. He looks like a nice steady guy to be around.

  • Thanks all ':)'  Cody was 17.2 when I last measured him a couple years ago so not sure now.  He weighs about a ton!  He is a very sweet boy, so calm.

I use a mounting block, hill, rock, trailer fender to get on.
