Here are some pictures from my camping trip last week. We were in between Julian and the Anza-Borrego desert, inland from San Diego. It was beautiful, a different kind of beautiful. Cody kept hoping he could eat the cats claw cactus and ended up poking his nose over and over..... except for the first night when we arrived and had terrible winds kicking up sand and it was very cold, we had perfect weather
The desert wildflowers are just starting to bloom and there was such a stillness about the whole place.
Tacking up back at camp
Cody was sure there was something yummy down there!
Riding buddy and Wesley riding back down Pinyon Pine Canyon
My other riding buddy and Spirit taking in the view
Cactus in bloom
Amazing how the little wildflowers survive
This is the end of a dead yucca stalk but looks surprisingly like a skull!
The trails were nice and sandy, you just had to watch out for jumping cholla cactus!
Love that spotty pony butt!
As I always say, one of the best views in the world!
Ocotillo in bloom, the tips look like swooping swallows to me.
