7 yr old shot and killed for suspected trespassing
  • I hope they are charged with murder and what ever else
    under the law.
  • I'm not sure what is going to happen. This is Texas! Where you have the right to shot someone on your private property. And although it was on public land they believed they where on private. It will be interesting to watch.
  • How do you not know what is and is not your property?  And even if you are allowed to shoot someone for tresspassing - then dang it - you better know it IS your property before firing.  And how about warning shots or even just going out there to talk to them instead?  This is just wrong, wrong, wrong.

My heart goes out to the family who lost their child & I hope the family's friend who was also shot in the head makes it ok.
  • Very sad but unfortunately this is the way people think nowdays. Truly sad.
  • Wow.  I had no idea you could shoot someone for no apparent reason in some states....even if they aren't threatening you it is still OK to shoot?!  Some crazy laws out there!    [&:]    Why not fire a warning shot first?!  Good grief.  Unless there is more to the story....perhaps there is....
  • This is absolutley ridiculous, (and why I'm petrified of guns)!
Just last year, I was chased down by a CSUV (with out of state plates) and 'yelled at' for riding where I didn't belong.  (I honestly didn't know...and thought I WAS where I belonged!)
When the guy finally shut up, I told him he'd better be painting some permanent boundary lines WITH OWNER'S NAMES then, because I had no idea....
Since then, I've talked to the police.  We all wonder what I rode into (this was a wooded area) with weeds up to your hips.  And we ALL think I'm lucky I got out in one piece!  Since then, I've been assured that 'where' I was really WAS okay....sheesh....
  • That is so sad..... I feel bad for the family. I hope that the couple get what is coming to them.
  • GASP!
Why use excessive force for a non violent incident?
Were those people high on drugs or something?
Its just trespassing by a little kid.
