• samsara Posted : 4/21/2011 1:22:44 AM Like I said before, duck soup for Saturday night and Sunday we're going to a brunch at some hotel restaurant with his family.  I imagine there will be roast beef, ham, and turkey along with various side dishes... beans, various "salads", probably meatballs, good hearty mid-western fare. Neither BF or I are from particularly religious families but we'll take any excuse to get together with the fam since both of us have parents that live quite a distance away.   In the past my family always did ham, roast beef, calico beans, and shrimp!  Oh how I loved the shrimp. It is C's father.&nbsprayers for the Edwards family. Sunday, I am going to do an open house for the family and friends. So they can come and go. Nothing fancy, ham, rolls, salads and desserts. • danastark Posted : 4/22/2011 12:52:59 AM My college girl doesn't eat red meat, lamb or pork and hubby doesn't eat pork anymore either so we're going to do a couple roast chickens in the rotisserie, some au gratin potatoes, asparagus, green salad, ambrosia fruit salad, rolls and I'm going to try a gluten-free Angelfood cake and maybe strawberry shortcake.   It's always terrible to lose someone but it seems even worse around the holidays.  I hope something wonderful happens for your friend, DH.
