I'm cleaning.  (okay, not at this very moment) but I came across a bottle that was given to me one trip to TX.  The lady at the store found out I was military and impulsively handed me this whopping big (1 liter) bottle of vanilla saying "bake some cookies for the troops".  That was incredibly nice of her and I'd never look a gift horse in the mouth.
HOWEVER - in BIG words on the label it says "PURE VANILLA".  What are the ingredients, you might ask?  Well I'll tell you.  Water, Ethyl-alcohol, Potassium sorbate, artificial flavor, caramel color.  It doesn't even HAVE vanilla in it!!!  I'm sort of a stickler about artificial colors and flavors in my food (as I munch candy corn).
