We are finally going to get a ride today also. Another cold front came through yesterday. Very windy and cold but today should be nice. Has anyone else noticed the lack of accuracy in weather forecasts? Low temps are routinely missed by 10 degrees here. Makes it hard for blanketing decisions. Have a wonderful day!

Weather forecast are a real struggle. For over 10 years we used WeatherBug. They were using a reporting station within 2 miles of us and the data was good. Then the data got bad. Forecast way off and real time temps no where close to reality.

My theory is most forecast are based on national weather service stations which tend located at airports. So for us our weather forecast are for Columbia, SC. Though we are close we are always much cooler. So whatever they predict we have to subtract.  

Local TV stations promote weather forecast for your specific location, but they are not close either. So the struggle goes on.

gosh face, at least you get mentioned.  I check the Weather Broadcasts and get nothing but Mid-west, East Coast, and then a quick mention of the Wet Coast.  Even then all they cover is the large population centers, most of which are a thousand to fifteen hundred feet lower and along the coast.  Useless.  Also, both locations I spend time at are in lightly populated areas with no weather stations close by.  Both are a kind of micro-clime that is  cooler and wetter than the location the Weather Services insist on showing me.  Ah the joys of living in the wilderness...

I was sick the middle of January.  Very sick with some kind of flu.  Might have been Covid, but I don't know.  I have been asked to basically stay away from Oak Run till the coughing ceases.  It's rather stubborn, however is very slowly improving.  Gosh, this one has been over a month now.

I miss my horses...
