Ginger, my 13 y/o haired horse has had vision problems since got her about a year and half ago. Something caused them to break the gate open and when I came out to put them up for the day, they were loose. I'm just glad that the weld on the gate gave before they decided to try to jump over. But, when I tried to walk up to Ginger, she ran away and tripped over the bush hog and took a pretty bad fall at a gallop. She got right back up and as soon as I got her in the stall I washed her small cuts and scrapes and things with warm water. She didn't have anything major, but over the past couple of days I've noticed her vision seems to have gotten worse. She won't walk up to fences/gates, she can't find her grain bin at night, can't find her hay, running into stuff. There is no obvious cuts or harm to her eyes. Can the fall cause the vision loss?
