Hurt knee on my Warmblood mare
  • I need help, my Warmblood mare who is 17hh ( big girl) tripped over and broke a wood sawhorse that one of my geldings pulled into the pasture. (he is a knucklehead) She injured the front and back of her knee area and is able to walk on it but it is very sore.  I have a wrap on it for support and everynight I soak her leg in Absorbine gel which she loves.  She seems to be in pain a lot but tries to get around on it.  I even see her put all her weight on it while relaxing.  I can't get the vet out because I am a little behind on my bill ( I hate people) so can anyone offer some advice for me and my girl?
  • I would give her something for the pain to make her a bit more comfortable and stall rest as much as possible to keep any additional stress off it.

Is there any swelling, heat, abrasions?
