  • How to bring out the shine in your horse's coat?
  • A balanced diet helps considerably.  I use Broken Arrow products for show grooming, if that's any help.

  • 1. Care, care and care again. Daily thorough combing of wool will stimulate blood circulation, remove dead hair and dirt, and also contribute to the release of useful secrets. The main thing here is to find the right brush.

    2. Use conditioner for wool. Horse conditioner is designed to moisturize and nourish hair follicles. It is a key ingredient that makes hair soft, healthy and shiny.

    3. Wipe the horse's coat with a soft polishing cloth. It stimulates the secretion of sebum, removes dirt and dust residues.

    4. Control the horse's diet, as mentioned above

    5. Minimize bathing. Bathing a horse from time to time is useful, as it is an opportunity for deep cleansing. However, shampoos actually remove natural oils from your horse's coat. Frequent bathing can make your horse's coat dull and dry.

  • A balanced diet is a big factor, I have 10 horses, of which none of dull. They all get a well rounded diet, with no additives or excessive grooming. However, some are more shiney than others, genetics also plays a big roll in that. Some horses coats are just more shiney that others, just like some grow a thicker winter coat than others.
