Hunter Braids,How short?

I've pretty much figured out the whole braiding thing BUT do I absolutely have to cut his mane shorter? • hunterseat Posted : 1/29/2010 9:10:30 PM If it's thin I wouldn't shorten it.  I mean, put your thumb and finger out to measure about 3 or 4 inches.  When that's braded and turned under and rubber banded, that's what you're shooting for.  SO if you braid what he has, do about, what?  2 inches of mane length?  you know, take a 2 inch down the crest piece of mane, braid it and fold it a couple of times and rubber band it real good, I think that would be fine.  If you and Cowboy start Olympic level, you'll have to do something different probably. []  This is my opinion only.  It's been a long time since I've shown.  BUT that's what I'd do!
