Pregnant Mare getting close???

She has had little bags in front of her udders for about a month but has not completely bagged up yet.  Today she had a yellowish looking dried bead on the tip of her udders and they had a cloudy white sticky fluid in them. Does this sound like she is getting close?? • Durangogramma Posted : 6/9/2011 4:23:31 AM Quite possible. Do not "milk" her. The baby will need that colostrum. It is slightly laxative and contains antibodies that he/she will need. Another thing you might notice when she gets really close it that her hips (the muscled part at the top-sides of her butt) will 'hollow' out. It's the softening that has to happen in order for her pelvis to spread for the baby to pass through. Woohoo, baby time.
