Here at F & M Horse Training we work with you and your horse to reach your goals.  No matter if you want to show Western Pleasure, enjoy a relaxing trail ride, or have a horse worthy of a working ranch we are here to help.

We specialize in colt starting but offer all this and more:

    Trail tune-ups
    Western Pleasure tune-ups
    Ranch work tune-ups
Colt starting for WP, Ranch, and Trail
    Halter breaking
    Trailer Loading and Unloading
    Buddy sour and Barn sour
    Riding lessons

Anything that moves and makes noise is a spooky object

We do clinics for local 4-H and riding groups

We even work with horses that have never been touched by a human hand

If interested or have questions please feel free to contact me at 618-665-3530 or 217-343-4756.  We are located just off of HWY 45 South of Effingham IL.  If you live close and want to come out and meet us please do so.  We welcome all visitors.  Also I post Monthly training articles in the Training section so stop on in and take a look and ask questions.

  • [';)']  Friendly bump.

Just a reminder that we are filling up fast for the summer months.  Give us a call now to reserve your spot for this fall and winter.

  • We are booked through Sept so if you would like us to work with you and your horse this winter please give us a call.

Would you like us to come to you?  Give us a call for more information.  We are doing small clinics as of this fall and will come to your barn and arena if within reasonable distance.

As of August our groundwork rates have changed to $400 for 30 days.  We do extensive groundwork to prepare your horse for the best possible start undersaddle.

  • Book now for your fall spot.  We are booked through to July so give us a call.  Have a colt you want started next spring, bring him in for ground work 30 days and he'll be ahead of the game!

Want to know how we train, I have articles in the Training section from last year.  (No time this year yet for new ones.)
