circling

• trainer101 Posted : 11/1/2010 4:11:28 PM Yep he just didn't want to do that.  Some horses back up, some throw a temper tantrum and others just circle back the way they want to go.  I usually just make them keep circling till they realize its more work than just going where I pointed them.  If you are asking him to go right and his nose is to the right but he moves to the left, give him a smack on the LEFT shoulder till he moves right then let him out of it.  Make sense?  Hope this helps.  You can also go to Julie Goodnight's website (with parents permission of course) and look at some of her short video clips and tips.  She has several in there on this.  Easy to follow and works.  Good luck.
