a few of my Maggie, since I'm new here :)
  • This is my 4 year old app mare Maggie (Swift Magnolia). I only got her about a month ago and she's my first "own" horse, though my 15 year old daughter thinks, she's hers...Maggie is about as sweet as they'll come, but wants to work and run and loves being in the center of attention! She's still getting her weight up, since she was picked on by some of the other horses she's being boarded with and had lost a little weight.
she's a bay snowflake, though she's starting to roan out along her neck a lot...
    Thanks for looking

  • [':)']  It looks like Maggie has a nice home.
  • Somebody loves Maggie!! [';)']

    She is lovely!!
  • we all love her, she's a doll! pretty much everything I've been looking for and she's fantastic with the kids...and thanks we're still boarding her, but since she's separate form the "bullies", she's doing so much better! I guess she's easy to pick on, since she'll just let them get away with it, they want her food, she'll move over ':(' there is such a thing as too nice, even with horses!
  • Well, it's been a few months, since we added Maggie to our family and she's been thriving. We recently started working with her and she couldn't be sweeter. I figured i put some recent pics up, since  my whole family (and have of the neighbourhood's kids) is absolutely in love with her

She's looking great and she's a total sweet heart!

Thanks for looking and letting me rant on about her ';)'

  • Rant on, Kirst!!  [':D']  I love your pictures.  That's what Maggie's life should be about.  Being loved on by a bunch of little girls!!  Way to go!

Also, the snowflakes - I think I read that they aren't actually genetic?  I'll have to look it up in my color book when I get home.  I might be getting it mixed up with something else.
  • Thanks!
She's surely enjoying all the attention ':)'

She didn't have any appaloosa markings as a filly, other then the mottled mouth and hoofs, but as she gets older, she's 4 now, she's getting more and more white "snowflakes" and her brown coat is turning roan...
She's a registered Appaloosa (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/swift+magnolia), but i don't know much about the color genetics, to be quite honest, maybe i need to do some research on that
