My Cowboy's First Riding Lesson

• cowgirldude Posted : 10/26/2009 1:46:39 AM My grandson will be 6 in 2 months. My friend who is giving me lessons was more than happy to give Braeden lessons, he had his first lesson yesterday. Just a little history~~ I have been putting Braeden on my horse, Dude, since he was at least a year old, and I take him for rides as often as I can. Recently I have allowed him to ride Dude without me holding onto the lead rope. He has also been leading him without me close by, and I allow him in the pasture without me, close-by of course. I was thrilled when my friend said he had no age limit to begin lessons.  Hopefully I can get these pictures to upload! Guess I'm not too familiar with posting pictures here.  He loved his lesson, and never asked when it would be over so he must not have tired.  I asked him  last night if he was ready for another lesson and he emphatically said YES! Our weather has been so iffy lately. • TanyaC97 Posted : 10/27/2009 12:14:24 PM Jonathan is now 8 almost 9.  I was very over protective about where he could ride and which horse.  His first "lesson" was at age 4 on a friends lesson mare.  I had tears running down my face when she tossed him up and he just natrually sat just like he was supposed too.   He runs hot and cold on the horses and his 4-wheeler and snowmobile.  He always likes to spend time with them and is great around them.  But sometimes things with a motor are more fun to ride.
