I am so happy with my garden... pics of the sunflowers
  • I will try to get more pictures of the garden but I really loved this one of the sunflower...  Being without a job has it's merits!

Ms. Misha and I went swimming in the Guadalupe today.  We had such a great time.  Very impromptu - so no pics.  I will see what I can do on our next adventure.
  • I'm right with you on being unemployed - I've been out in the garden alot and loving it.   I spend 1/2 the day looking for work and the rest with the horse or garden - it sure helps [':)']

One of my dear friends said... "stop and smell the roses".   I am with you Jet, may not be the roses but the horses, my dog Ms. Misha and the garden are getting me grounded.  I am gathering the energy now.  Big job hunt will happen soon.  Good luck to you.  Are you on LinkedIn?  I am working on my profile there... I understand networking is the key.

    I love my sunflowers!  ':o')
  • nice sunflower.   what do you do with the seeds?

good that you are relaxing and enjoying the time
you get to spend with the critters and getting to
swim.   And gaining energy for the big job hunting process.

Good question.  I haven't a clue.  This is my first year to grow them.  I am just keeping my fingers crossed the birds don't eat the seeds first.  Then again, that might not be entirely bad.  The drought here is very bad and the wildlife is doing everything they can to survive.  So many of us here have put out water troughs for the deer, birds, bunnies, well everything .. and our tomatoes are getting eatin alive.  I think the birds are trying to get the moisture and food from them.  We had to build a cage with a net over those.  What a year.  Hoping for rain!!!
  • are these the black oil seeds,   your horseys would love a treat.  LOL

want to give your horses a treat on a hot day,    watermellon.
    helps keep them hydrated too.
