Birthday Party and Skating
  • Last night my best friends youngest daughter had her Birthday party at Skate City she turned six. I didn't tell the kids where we were going or what we were doing. I went to there school picked them up early got Paul's wheel chair since they allow wheel chairs on the rink. When we got there my kids were all smiles and after words they had a sleep over. First one is with Paul and my daughter Second is Paul going around by himself and the third is with the Birthday Girl.

How fun that you were able to surprise them. Looks like everyone was having fun.
  • I love to skate! I like traditional skates, though.

  • Durangogramma  They enjoyed them selfs as much as the surprise.
Hunter I thought the Traditional Skates were gone. They still had them. Brought back wonderful memories.
  • I am glad that the kids had a good time! I haven't been skating for 20 yrs, at least. I loved to skate when I was a kid, but didn't get to go skating very often.
  • Everyone looks like they sure had fun! It's been years since I've skated, since I was a kid.... back then we had metal skates that clamped onto your shoes and you had a key to adjust the skates to your shoes.... Oy, I is old!
  • My mom had us in lessons and we competed in speed and freestyle. My older sister did partners.  I was probably 3-5 yrs old during that time and I only have a very few vague memories about it. I know I loved it. I wanted to marry my skating instructor. We lived in NJ so when we moved to VA there was nothing there to follow up with. (but there was a skating rink and we all had b'day parties there like wild indians) I must have really good muscle memory because, after a little warm-up, I can do pretty good.  It's been forever, though.  It's really great exercise. Makes me wanna go NOW! [':)']
