Update-Hubby passed his pilot's exam.......The new plane
  • Here's my hubby after he arrived home with his first airplane.  He's the one in the cockpit, his instructor is under the wing:

  • Nice. I'm happy for him. There's NO WAY I would get into that plane if it was going to leave the ground. [':D']
  • As long as you do thorough preflight inspections and trust your mechanic it's all good. Sweet little aircraft!
  • No. My issue is that I'm afraid of heights. I would be dizzy and sick. Commercial air travel is OK. You're so high the ground looks like a map, and I'm not looking out the windshield with the ground coming at me during take off and landing.
  • I'm terrified of heights..... but, oddly, I always thought it would be so fun to learn to fly!  Nice plane!!
  • Hubby passed his pilot's exam today so he is officially a pilot.  Not sure whether to be happy about that.  I'm happy for him because it makes him happy but he wants me to go flying w/ him on Sunday.........

He called me and was heading to the airport where his plane is to take it out and fly.
  • Congratulations to your hubby! That's a nice plane. I'm scared of heights too, but flying (in a small plane like that) never bothered me. It's different somehow.
  • Somehow as I got older and became a parent, flying in a small plane became something that wasn't on my "to do" list.  When I was a kid living in AK, we had to fly in small planes to get to the next major city airport or to go across the bay to compete against another school, didn't give it a second thought but now........

We're seeing Elton John in Vegas in October and he wants to fly us there too.........
  • Congratulations to your hubby, and i know its scary to fly, I WONT !!! i did once clear from oregon to florida and had nightmares every day since, I BEGGED my husband to let us take a bus back home =(  but then again, im a biiig baby !!!! but yah know.... its true, its the safest way to travel, so id say have fun with it, i bet youll be seeing some AMAZING scenery, take your camera =)
