Another storm

Another storm
  • We had some major storms last Friday with severe straight line winds and 18 tornados in our part of the world. Our forecast was looking very menacing again tonight. We had just moved our LQ trailer out of the barn about a week ago and it did make it through last week's storms, but I talked my husband into putting in back inside the barn tonight, which he wasn't to happy about doing because he has to back it in from an angle and it is not easy to do. They were predicting severe storms, possible tornados and hail, so I didn't want to leave it out. It looks like the storm is mainly past us and although it did rain pretty hard and there was, and still is, some thunder and lightening, it wasn't too bad and no hail or tornado activity here. There were some tornadoes and hail in other areas of the midwest, but at our house, we have lucked out so far at least.  There is a tornado warning east of us, but it doesn't sound like anything too major at the present time. Hope everyone else has survived the midwest storms and makes it through the night safely.
  • We're in line for the same storm/s.  But...we had a bit of hail here.  It's dark out there now yet, so I'll have to check things out in the morning to see what got 'dinged.'  I do have to say tho...they sure came thru in a hurry.  I do believe it's already over!
  • I just do NOT want to hear this!  Carol's flying in today for the weekend!  NO matter the weather on her visit - I want her FLIGHT to be safe!
I hope you guys are safe, too.
  • We all hope Carol arrives safely, without incident of any kind, and that the two of you have the TIME OF YOUR LIVES!!
Everything turned out just fine, here!  (Now that I can see...)  Still do have to check the trees down by the 'crick'.  They were really swaying and moaning yesterday....
  • This is really good news you guys are safe and sound.

I know it has been a really rough spring for those of you in the central plains and the midwest - oh and Oklahoma and the panhandle of TX.  Hunker down yall.
  • How much rain did you get PL?  Last night we got 4 1/2 inches!!  No wind damage though so we were lucky.  Only problem is that we all thought it was wet before, well its definatly wet now.

Glad everyone is safe and Hunter don't you worry she will get there safe and you two will have so much fun.  You deserve a break thats for sure!
  • Actually...we only got 2 inches.  It just came in (and left) like gangbusters.  Had all kinds of tornado watches, but (WHEW!) we didn't have any wind damage to speak of either.  (Cept for a leaky roof...)  Two years ago it blew out  our East windows. [':o'] The year before that is was the South windows. [:'(] (I'm still finding glass in the lawn.) So..you'll understand when I ask people to *not* go barefooted!
WOW...FOUR AND A HALF INCHES is a LOT!  You have to feel like you're in the middle of a lake!  Not *sure* where you live.  Do you think Carlyle Lake draws a lot of it in for you?[8|]
BTW...I have NO idea who's horse is pictured here!  (I know I didn't add it!)
