My dear Annie passed this evening in her sleep. She spent her last day sleeping in the sun and watched the sun go down. Thirty minutes later she was gone. It was a blessing she passed so quietly. Poor little Sheila curled up against Annie and wouldn't leave her, even after Annie was gone. When I finally wrapped the old girl up in a blanket, Sheila seemed to accept that was it. Annie, wrapped in her blanket, is in the harness room. Tomorrow I'll have to put the backhoe on the tractor and put her to bed for the last time. Funny, we had a great day and evening yesterday. This morning I think she knew it was time.
Sorry about the non-horsey theme...
