There are alot of variables that go into a good or bad trailering experience. Is he by himslef? What's the configuration of the trailer? Does he ride forward or rear facing, loose or tied? Who's driving and are they experienced with a horse who doesn't ride well? Do you have good airflow in the trailer?
The obvious place to start is controling the feet and getting him to load nice and quietly. Sounds like he does that. What happens when the door is closed? Is he still nice and quite or is he already starting to fret? At what point is it too much for him?
