Anyone ever use the Kincade Redi Ride Pony Saddle?
  •   I am going to be getting a pony as a companion for Gypsey, and so that my 5 year old niece(my best friend's daughter) can have a pony to learn to ride on.  I have been looking at various pony/children's saddles, and the one I like the best is the Kincade Redi Ride Pony saddle.  Most of the ones I have looked at come in seat sizes of 10" or 12", which a child could very quickly outgrow.  The Kincade Redi Ride has a 14" seat, which seems to me to be a good size, and when my friend's daughter outgrows that, she could move up to my mother's 16.5" saddle.  Has anyone used one before?  Does anyone know what Kincade's website is, so I can get more details on the tree, etc.  I definitely want a synthetic saddle, all of my other saddles are Wintecs.  My other option would be the Wintec Pony saddle, but, because that is new, it is rather pricey.
  •   The quality of Kincade saddles are dreadful.  I understand that it's a kid and they're hard on saddles and at best, you'll get 50 rides out of it before it's outgrown but I'd be concerned it would hold the child back on learning a good possition as well as maybe impinging on the horse's back.  Check with your local 4H groups for outgrown saddles, CL, eBay...  Spending $100 on a good used saddle is money in the bank.  You'll get that much out when it's time to sell it.  Buy it now before people start thinking about the upcoming show season.
