I came upon something interesting, which is this :
WHY is everyone, and I mean
everyone saying the 2010 Census has "very personal questions" such as if you have a flush toilet, what income you make, and on and on it goes?
I've even seen many people on the internet post a link that goes to a Census site page where it lists these questions (supposedly anyway). The link they keep posting is this one :
http://2010.census.gov/2010census/pdf/2010ACSnotebook.pdf If
anyone would bother to
actually read what's on that link, and I mean
carefully, you'd find this :
It's NOT the 2010 Census which has any sort of detailed questions like the one about "Do you have a flush toilet?"
It's the American Community Survey.
And if everyone would check the Census site further to read about the American Community Survey, they'd read it comes out yearly and is given to random households and is given to just a small group of people.
They are 2 separate things people, 2 separate things. So, after you all
read that link above everyone has been pasting all over, and I mean
actually read it, you'll find those questions are on the survey and not the Census. If you don't bother to fact check this and find out, then when the 2010 Census arrives, look at it - you'll be
surprised to see these questions are
no where to be found. Further checking on the Census site will also reveal this :
The 2010 census (not the American Community Survey) has only these things on it, as you'll find at the Census site link here :

2010 Census: Kinds of questions on the 2010 Census form
Question :
What questions are asked on the 2010 Census form?
Answer :
We ask four general questions about the household:
-If the housing unit is owned or rented
-Telephone number
-How many people live in the residence
If any additional people who lived at the residence on April 1, 2010, were not included And for each household member, we ask:
-Name
-Sex
-Age/date of birth
-Relationship to the person who owns or rents this residence
-Hispanic origin
-Race
-Does this person sometimes live or stay somewhere else
People who keep saying the toilet and other similar questions are on the 2010 Census :
READ the link I just gave and see for yourself - these are
not on the 2010 Census as many have claimed. These same questions are listed on that link above which everyone keeps providing. If people who distribute this junk would bother to read that same link they keep pasting all over, they'd see this same thing listed right on that page. It's right there too, not just at the link I found above.
I wished people would get their facts straight if they're going to post lest they get everyone worked up for nothing.
And btw, to cover the topic of the actual personal questions which are on the American Community Survey, some are personal, yes. But anyone who is posting saying these questions include such things as :
-What religion you belong to?
-What social groups?
-Do you own a gun, and who owns it?
-etc.
You people who post this up also need to fact check before passing such errors, though some people are doing it on purpose to create more of an impression that Americans privacy is being invaded
way more than it actually is. Anyway, I wished people wouldn't post "pretend questions" like "Do you have any guns?" in hopes you won't bother to read that link they gave and find out if it's actually there. Boy oh boy, I'm amazed at how many are passing around these untruths as though they're fact. Too many IMO.
