I#%92m in a picture-sharing mood, and decided to post some riding pics or my cousins and friends riding Dakota (my 3 year old Tennessee Walker gelding) and Buttercup (my great uncles 23 year old Racking Horse mare). Sadly, I'm not in any of the pictures as I was the one behind the camera.

^ My 12 year old cousin Whitney on Dakota. She rides him quite often and loves riding him. She wants me to train him to barrel race so she can do it for the fun of it. I#%92m probably going to train him to barrels and maybe poles or jumping once I get an arena built.

^ Some boys from my church... the 9 year old on Dakota is Carson and the 11 year old standing beside them is Cameron (I think... I tend to get their names mixed up...) The 9 year old has never been on a horse and quickly realized that Dakota intimidated him because he#%92s taller than any of our other horses (Dakota is 15.2 hands).

^ Dakota

^ Tyler riding Dakota... he#%92s the other two boys 14 year old brother. His family has recently been given a horse, and since none of them really know how to ride or anything about horses, they#%92ve started coming out here once or twice a week to hang out with me and ride and mess with the horses. This is the second time they#%92ve been out and the second time Tyler#%92s ever ridden. Tyler really likes riding Dakota, though, because he#%92s really responsive and walks, trots, or canters at the slightest cue. Tyler#%92s still learning the posting trot, but he#%92s going really well.

^ Buttercup and my 10 year old cousin Autumn and her 3 year old sister Lexi. Buttercup is pretty much Autumn#%92s horse, and Lexi loves to ride any horse and rides around with her sisters (Whitney and Autumn) a lot. She#%92s definitely going to be a horse lover when she grows up.

^ 9 year old Carson on Buttercup. Even though she#%92s bulkier and only an inch shorter than Dakota, he decided that he likes to ride her and isn#%92t afraid of her. I think it#%92s because she#%92ll only walk or stop and stand still... she hardly ever goes any faster.

^ Just a picture of Autumn smiling before she rides down the yard.

^ Cameron riding Buttercup. He#%92s ridden a few times before, but doesn#%92t know a whole lot. He quickly found out that he likes Dakota more because he#%92s more responsive and easier to get to go places. Cameron#%92s claimed Dakota as his and Tyler#%92s horse until my mare gets well so one of them can ride her.

great pictures your horse is pretty i like his head very pretty....wow what happened to your bit(sorry it looks weird)

I love these pics! Are you as young, too? Your horses are really sweet looking! It's nice of you to let everyone ride! They'll never forget those times!
