Tehama District Fair
  • Well, here's some pics from the Fair this weekend:

First everyone had to do their in-hand:

    Then we warmed up:

Then in the ring to strut our stuff!

Joyce and Chance took the blue in both classes.  I was pickled tink![:D]

Chance and Sunny's owner says that this judge dislikes her and Sunny.  Hence, he won't place them.  I think part of the issue with Sunny's placing has to do with my missing my hat (for the salute of the judge) and nearly knocking my glasses off.  Should have just used the whip. [:-]  It's likely that he felt I should have had a jacket and tie on.  Then too, I left my driving apron in Oak Run.  Oops!  Joyce's was a really nice one though.  Really cool with the dragonflys.  So, I don't entirely think Sunny's placings were completely his fault.

    Here's a shot showing Joyce's Dragonfly apron:

If anyone's interested, I'll post more pics when I have the time to upload them (dial-up in Fawn Lodge you know...).
  • Looks like a fun time was had by all.
  • Great pictures! You were showing someone else's horse? Small horse? I'm lost. SORRY - but I enjoyed the pictures!!
  • No, my fault Hunter.  Both are ponies.   To me a horse is a horse, weather they're a horse, pony, or mini (my back does have issues with the Minis, but that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish, as it were[';)']).

Chance of a Lifetime  and Reedann's Sunscreen  are both owned by Fireworks Farm of Happy Valley, Ca.  I've been working with them this year preparing for just this show.  We had hoped for a somewhat larger field, but the economy and gas prices... well, the small field wasn't much of a surprise, you know.  Besides, a small field does  have it's own advantages anyway.

There is some discussion of taking Chance to the HDT being held at Clay Station (So. of Sacramento Ca.) this month.  We're having a conferrece together on that tomorrow.  I also have to bring up the ticklish issue of payment for this summer's work.  There's been nothing whatever forthcoming for three or four months and I need the hay.  Yeah, she's supposed to pay me with hay.  Not too bad an arrangement in my mind.  My girls eat a LOT  of hay.   Anyway, wish me luck, say a prayer, etc, tomorrow, because I really need  that hay!
  • Thanks so much for sharing.  They are beautiful little geldings ':)'  Wish you were closer and I could pay you with hay to get my Cody going in harness!
