Discount airline tix?
  • Is anyone familiar with getting cheap(er) airline tickets?
I was hoping to get my family in for Christmas.[;)]
From MSP MN to SA TX
  • Hmm, I was wondering the same thing [';)']
  • Aren't you married to a pilot?  [':D']
It used to be that last-minute flights could be had super cheap but I haven't found that true lately.
For some reason, when I got to Google, I get a Google home page that has some Kayak deals  posted that are incredibly cheap.  They update daily.
Either way, once the trip is less than 30 days out it goes up. (that's what we've been finding lately)  If you look now you might be able to find the best deal.
  • Here's a special SouthWest is running but you have to book TODAY.  I plugged in random dates and played with different TX airports.  Look at the far right on the price columns.

If you can't get this to come up I'll email you the original link.
  • The last time that I bought airline tickets I went through Kayak.com. Searching for airline tickets can be very aggrevating. [:@]  I can never understand why their prices change so often.
  • I just always fly Southwest and book 2 to 3 months out. That way I can PLAN and be assured that I'm going to fly at a certain time (weather permitting in the winter). I peeked at their rates around Christmas last night for the flights you'd be needing. 'Online only' you can get as low as $202 each way a couple of days before and the day after to/from MSP/SAT. What I don't like about Priceline, Expedia, etc. is that you have to wait for less than 30 days and take what they have.

Good luck. Hope you get your family all together.

Hmmm.... We use them and book more than 30 days out but mostly I just go straight to Delta.com.  You should see what airlines have hubs at both airports.

Looks like CheapO has a $30 off booking bonus plus up to $50 off if you book 4+ seats.  I didn't look into the details on that one.  I'm wiped out on flying.  I can't believe Chatter and I have actually booked seats on the same flight right next to each other!  Happy day!  Can't wait to get back up there!  And looking forward to him being down here, too.  [':)']

  • Doesn't look promising for 6 tickets.
