Earthquake/Tsunami

Earthquake/Tsunami
  • Scary stuff.  I hope the West Coasters are all safe and on high ground!!  Prayers up for the islands!
  • I am sitting here in tears over this news.  As you know, (or maybe not) my youngest son is on The Big Island of Hawaii.  He called me when the last tsunami was approaching and things were fine there. You can see the ocean from his road.  I have not heard from him and only get a busy signal when I call.  I have several friends on the islands. &nbsp';P'rayers appreciated.

As soon as I posted this, I got a text message from my son (THANK YOU GOD).  He says he is fine but also says "big rumbles" and that he will keep me posted.  The "big rumbles" were from a 4.5 earthquake that hit there last night.  He also is pretty close to the last volcanic activity that was on the news a few days ago.

I am listening to a radio station from the Big Island and keeping posted on the status.  The warning is still on as of now, which is 11:14 am my time and five hours earlier for him.

Pray everyone on the west coast of the mainland is safe, too.
  • I am following this the whole day now, it's so SAD! And catastrophical! Following on BBC, CNN, Hawaii News Now and Internet! It is scary! Plus there come all the problems with nuclear power plants and all! My thoughts are there with those people! And the axis of the earth has been moved!

Connie, glad your son is okay!
  • I was in church this morning.  The pastor uses his i-pod for his sermons.  A notice came up just as he was about to start.  He stopped and we all prayed.  Death toll is over 10,000 in Japan.  [':(']
I love Japan and her people so much.  Spent two tours there totalling 13 months.  This breaks my heart.
  • Seems the news just keeps getting worse w/ the nuclear reactor situation......  have to contact my sister and see if she knows anyone.  She lived over there for 6 years.
