Thankful Thursday
  • Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

V invited us. We have been at loose ends all week not having to plan and cook for a houseful.
Sis is having Thanksgiving at their house on Saturday.

I am thankful for my Pilot, family and friends even when I don't hear from them.
My health such as it is and a beautiful life in the Texas Hill country.
    and my wonderful horses.

Everyone have a thoroughly wonderful Thanksgiving!
  • Spent the morning organizing things for the Sale we are doing Saturday.  Cal is not pleased, the best items are either no longer there or behind the door marked...NOT FOR SALE.

Came home and reset Whisper's bandages and gave her warm water....well, added boiling water to her bucket.  Gave her more hay, hung a fresh hay bag, brought her bucket of hay up to the gate, she likes reaching over and eating from it.  She is set until we get back unless I go over before we leave and grain her.

We are going to meet up with a couple of friends and eat at the race track casino buffet.  All you can eat and includes beverages and dessert.  No leftovers but I have a turkey thawing in the garage fridge that I will roast tomorrow so we can have our fill of turkey.

Hope everyone has a super Thanksgiving.

  • I don't have much.  Then again I don't have a lot of responsibility either.  Therefore I am grateful for what I do have.

There are so very many people who don't have a roof over their heads.

There are so many people who don't have sufficient to eat.

There are also so many people who live in fear from one moment to the next.

I may have very little, in fact many people would say I live in poverty.  However my poverty is better than what many people have all over the world, so for that I am very grateful.  I have all I need and more.  Praise God for his mercy and loving kindness to provide for this his most unworthy servant.

  • Stude, a wonderful reminder of all we have and don't have.  I have a loving husband, a roof over my head, food in the cupboard, clothes on my back and a place for my horse.

Wednesday we stopped at a local diner for lunch after working on the sale we are having on Saturday for a lady who is moving.  The diner is small, and there were people at every table.  A mechanic we know came in and we offered to share our table with him.  He thanked us and said he wanted to sit at the counter and pick on the waitress.  He eats there every day.  I could hear the waitress when she spoke to him but could not hear his replies...I can pretty much fill in the blanks.  She is a sweet, caring person.  She asked him  what he was doing for Thanksgiving.  (I assume nothing was the answer). Then she invited him to her house.  Then she said  that she had plenty of food and he was very welcome to share it with her and her family.  I do not know what his answer was but I do know her heart is right.  The new somewhat local feed store owner put the same invitation out on the internet..I have plenty of food.  You are all welcome to come and join us.

These two women have a really good handle on Thanksgiving in my book.

  • Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.

    Very well said Stude.

Smoked a turkey to take to our son and wife's house. While it was smoking went on a nice trail ride.
