Thursday thank you
  • Horse.com is donating to Texas

  • Liz texted they have all 10 horses back home

I am headed out for volunteer day

    Everyone have a thankful Thursday!

  • Vet visited Eros today. Injured side improving. However, laminitis has set in on the good side and is now the #1 concern. Will be ordering him some special boots for that. Long long road ahead for him.

  • I am glad to hear things aren't as bad for our Texas members as they could have been.  Glad also to hear Horse.com is donating.

Good news, Hunter, on the riding prospects.  Hopefully that will give you the respite from stress you need.  Seems to me that spending time with the horses keeps me sane sometimes...  Maybe part of my own problems with depression lately has been from not spending enough time with the horses.

Chocolate Drop goes to his new home on Saturday.  His new owners are so excited and delighted to get him.  The little girl is just about dancing with glee over the whole thing.  Jmebear really gave them a great deal on him, kinda gave the little fellow away in my opinion.

I do hope and pray Texas and Texans are able to get through the next couple of weeks okay.

  • Great day.4day weekend ahead. Leaving early for Jersey. Seeing boy. Coming back Saturday. I guess I haven't told anyone yet but no one stops long enough to listen to what I have to say, though things are better around here. I've said "you better be nicer to me" and he's trying.

    God bless Texas.

And God bless Eros. Hang in there. My natural hoofcare practitioner is a specialist with laminitis. You should look up Steve Johnson at Dragonfly Farm. I think he has a lot of info on his site.

Stude! Chocolate Drop has a little girl?? That's priceless! I agree about the horse therapy/vitamin H. Looking forward to tomorrow, even if I can't walk when I'm finished. lol

    THANK YOU HORSE.COM!!!!

  • Have seen a lot of posts on facebook where people are helping each other out in Texas.  Strangers and friends alike are stepping up to help people and animals.  Good for my soul to see the humanity.

When for a short ride on Whisper last night.  Felt so good to be on her.  She so far, has been listing to me.  If she doesn't agree with me, she gives in anyway as a rule...unless there is danger...like stepping on a kitten.

Still debating about getting a companion for her for the winter.  not sure I want one.  She is so nice to be around and chores do not take much time.

Have enough hay to get her through the next year...pretty much up until next Christmas....so, I could feed another.  Will see how it goes.  I like being in the barn and love to be on a horse.

Hope everyone is recovering whether from illness, aches, storms or not nice people.
