Mud Fever

• RideNSnazz Posted : 10/21/2009 9:08:20 PM Now, why is it I never heard of this, but I have nothing but mud at my place. It has rained so much lately, seems I have a mud farm and it is going to rain again.  A friend of mine sent me this and it is something I have not heard of. I thought it was interesting. My older Mare is having issues with being cold already and it is not even winter yet but I know the mud doesn't help her. I have moved her up in dry lot, which is not dry but better than other pasture. • Toodlestoo Posted : 10/22/2009 12:15:18 PM We bought a horse and when he was delivered, he had mud fever on his legs and girth area.  We picked off the scabs (if they were ready to fall) and used MTG on it.  It cleared up very nicely.  Haven't had a problem with him since but it's pretty dry in our pasture.
