• Connie Posted : 7/5/2012 12:08:21 PM There are quite a few in my area.  The smoke is outside (a blessing), carbon dioxide leakage in your home is not possible, and the danger of a chimney fire in the house does not exist.  They bury a conducting pipe under the ground and it brings the heat into the house.  Some are hot water heat and some forced air.  Most seem to be hot water heat.  They also use them for domestic hot water.  Nearby, there is a house trailer with an outside furnace.
